​ This weekend saw F1 head to the Saudi Arabian streets of Jeddah and here are my takeaways from this weekend GrandPrix!   Saudi Arabian GP - where there was action both on and off the circuit!   Mercedes season is over!  So I guess the first major and significant takeaway is for the Mercedes team! And last weeks Bahrain GrandPrix I highlighted the fact Mercedes could be in real trouble and this weekend confirmed all but that! their season is over - especially for Lewis Hamilton. The car is so far behind the competition it isn’t funny. When your lead driver is battling it out with Haas and Alfa Romeo for tenth position, in order to get a point, you know things are bad. RedBull Vs Ferrari and Max vs Charles?  Both Red Bull and Ferrari have got their respective cars right. And it just isn’t for their lead drivers Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. In a recent interview with SkyF1, Martin Brundle ex F1 driver and British co-commentator sat down with the CEO of F1 himself. Stefano Domenicali. And in the interview Stefano unveils potential plans to see a 30 race season long calendar introduced to the F1 season. In this short blog, I’m going to assess the current potential for this to happen.  In my opinion that would depend but how on earth would you organize such a long winded calendar is beyond me. Personally I think 30 races per season is stupidly ambitious and how they expect the drivers to cope let alone media, journalists, FIA, team principals and staff is the big question. With the current state of things in F1 all the teams suffer from fatigue and I’m sorry to say but I just don’t see how it can happen without probably many teams leaving the sport. I think the MOST F1 could ever expand to is 25 races per season but even my gut feeling is even that is being extreme and pushing it. I think it’s all right for the promoters...

Here are three takeaways from last weeks Bahrain 🇧🇭 GrandPrix.  Ferrari are BACK:  let’s start with the Scuderia and Ferrari’s win at Bahrain marks the end of their second longest win drought in F1. After Vettel’s last win in Singapore 2019 has seen the infamous brand of Ferrari go on a 46 race losing streak. 910 days later and Charles Leclerc ends that drought for Ferrari winning the first race of the new Era in some style having almost lead every single lap albeit for ONE. And it was no fluke! The performance has been witnessed in pre-season testing both at Barcelona and Bahrain and throughout the overall weekend was very strong showing for the Scuderia. Mercedes and Mercedes customers are in trouble?:  Mercedes all weekend struggled not just with porpoising but also with sheer pace on the straights! 6 of the 8 Mercedes cars failed to even reach the top 10. ​ Now we’re two months on from the AbuDhabiGP controversy and two months later in this article/blog I’ll explain or try to at least explain why I think Hamilton didn’t deserve to become champion.   Now look I’m not going to try to underplay what Hamilton’s achieved during last season but what I am going to do is explain why Max deserved it more then Lewis.  Now both throughout the 2021 season both drove fantastically and arguably 2021 was the BEST F1 championship battle for many of years but the question is who deserved it more Max or Lewis? So today I will review F1 2021! Since F1 2021 the new game came out on July 13th I for one was looking forward to playing it however the more I got to know the new game the more and more disappointed it became and today I’m gonna give my honest opinion and review to what I think about F1 2021 Game!  I will break my review down into 5 categories (Breaking Point, Online, Handling Model/Physics, Career Mode and Customization!) in each of the sub categories the will be a maximum of 5 points and scores can range from 0 to 5, with 5 of being the highest and 0 being the lowest!  Breaking Point!  So our first category is Breaking Point. Codemasters newest feature to the F1 games was Breaking Point! And to put it long story cut short it delivered on my expectations because it was a very nice introductory story to the game that you’re about to play and I think it was a very good beginners guide for younger generation players of the game to experience. So question I want to look at today is should F1 change the RedFlag rules??? Now within the last 12 months the been 6 RedFlags! Now that is abnormally high considering how many red flags where thrown between 2015 to end of 2019 which was only 5!  So within the last 12 months we’ve seen as many RedFlags as we’ve seen across years of 5 seasons! So is it time for a change? Under the current rules it allows teams to change tyres, to change wings and damaged body parts like for like. It also under the current rules in enables drivers who are a lap down during races to come back onto the leaders lap. Now personally I think this is a rather unfair situation. Because ultimately put it this way your not allowed to leave the track and gain a advantage yet your allowed to repair a damage car or gain back significant time under one of these safety cars!  Also if you repaired a car during parc ferme you’d have to start your race from the pit lane. So with British GrandPrix now done and dusted round 10 leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth. FIA seriously are becoming woke bunch of cowards that hand penalties out left right and centre for pathetic tiny incidents but when it comes to serious incidents they barely give a slap on the wrists.  Now I’m all for wheel to wheel on the edge of my seat stuff as a spectator but when the line is crossed which does happen the FIA seemingly aren’t handing out penalties that they should to deter this! This is going to end up someone having such serious crash we will be witnessing another Jules Bianchi or another Romain Grosjean. Like these crashes are now happening so frequently it’s actually quite off putting. F1 has been or should be the 20 fastest, 20 most skilled but most importantly most action packed wheel to wheel Motorsport series without wheel banging.
