FIA are WOKE! Hamilton should’ve been at minimum handed 10 Seconds Stop and Go.
So with British GrandPrix now done and dusted round 10 leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth. FIA seriously are becoming woke bunch of cowards that hand penalties out left right and centre for pathetic tiny incidents but when it comes to serious incidents they barely give a slap on the wrists.
Now I’m all for wheel to wheel on the edge of my seat stuff as a spectator but when the line is crossed which does happen the FIA seemingly aren’t handing out penalties that they should to deter this! This is going to end up someone having such serious crash we will be witnessing another Jules Bianchi or another Romain Grosjean.
Like these crashes are now happening so frequently it’s actually quite off putting. F1 has been or should be the 20 fastest, 20 most skilled but most importantly most action packed wheel to wheel Motorsport series without wheel banging. That is what F1 is, it’s not bumper cars, not nascar or whatever it’s F1, it’s the pinnacle of motorsports allegedly!
What happened at the British GrandPrix between Max and Lewis had this been 10 years ago you’d probably be minimum looking at 10 seconds stop and go but in 2021 nah only 10 seconds.
Ultimately it was one of the most horrifying crashes in motorsports I’ve seen. That corner, 51G, 180MPH and a car left in ruins. Now people tend to criticize me for being “Anti Hamilton” but no. Just simply no. For me it don’t matter who’s the two involved here I fully condemn it. Yes it happens to be Lewis and Max but that’s not my issue or my fault that’s between the two drivers but ultimately as I say what does it matter who was involved call a sheep a sheep, call a spade a spade and say it as you see it.
What annoys me so much about this is the weakness of the penalty given. This could’ve been a career ending accident, this was reckless and stupid. As Horner said “he hopes Hamilton is happy.”
But on a serious note If the FIA don’t start taking these incidents and clamping down on them more seriously Grosjean crash we saw at last years Bahrain GrandPrix is only a pre curser of what’s to come. Just look at how many big accidents the has been already this year! You have George Russell and Bottas at Imola, In Austria on last lap you had Raikkonen collecting Vettel in a horrible manner and now this! And that’s just this year. I don’t care Hamilton won this one in truth but I do care for safety of the drivers and sport. The is hard racing for sure but this is a step now beyond the limits. Does it take a death to wake people up? Do we need to see Verstappen, Hamilton, Vettel or whoever it is die from one of these monster crashes? A lot of people will say it’s a overreaction or whatever but is it really?
Like what does it take for people to realize how dangerous F1 has become? I use to enjoy racing but now I’m wondering when is the next crash? Who’s gonna be the next Bianchi? Or Hubert? I want to see hard racing like many but hard racing doesn’t have to result in these giant crashes that almost on the edge of career ending.
Look even at Baku and the tyre failures! Not first time that happened now is it and sure enough won’t be the last. All I want to see is hard and fair racing but not dangerous driving. And the is a big difference between the two and it’s the FIA job to police it. So FIA step up or step down.
