​ Well for Monaco at least it was a semi decent race, thankfully that’s mostly because of the rain which came around lap 50 but it was this that spiced the race up nicely and made it a very interesting affair. I certainly found this race better then Miami even though apparently Monaco you can’t overtake on and what’s nice most of all about Monaco is you don’t need the fakery surrounding it, it is still F1’s jewel in the crown. Monaco of all circuits is meant to be the toughest of the lot and is most trickiest of all driver circuits that’s out there. However here are my FOUR takeaways… (Even though it’s called three things we learned)  Perez Championship Hopes are OVER! When Perez crashed, okay, I thought how detrimental it would be for weekend but as Horner said maybe top10 would’ve been a good damage limitation and ultimately in the race his day and weekend didn’t get any better but only worse and effectively became a RedBull Guinea pig… I mean he was a little hamster spinning on ...

​ So not a lot really again, the wasn’t much drama as races go and for a street track again surprisingly boring race, no safety cars, no drama be that negative or positive and ultimately the hardly anything I can say. I guess most things that could take was off track this weekend as that’s where most the action occurred. Miami gimmicks! Look Miami since it’s introduction to the F1 calendar has been known to be very gimmicky and ultimately this years event didn’t fail but with all of that the reaction from a large part of the fan base certainly online appear to take negative to that and even I didn’t like the pre race presentation ceremony! It felt like a cheapened version of what we saw from Austin Texas all those years ago in 2017. But the 2017 one was actually pretty good and was solid but this was a bit poorly presented to us. ​ Well it wasn’t the most thrilling race weekends as races go and the IndyCar later on in the day was better race from a entertainment stand point but here’s what I took away from Azerbaijan. Safety wasn’t top priority! Firstly want to talk about what occurred at the end of the race because safety usually in F1 is considered priority number and what happened was shambolic and ultimately we are very fortunate not to have witnessed a crowd get run down and potentially hurt or worse killed, obviously I don’t have the ins and outs of what happened or how it occurred but what did occur was shocking and never seen anything like it within my time watching F1! And I hope that I never see anything like it again because it was a shambles and I hope no one loses the job over this but I hope the FIA take note, the event organisers and hope F1 itself will make sure this doesn’t occur in the future and it’s not the first time that we’ve seen people allowed into the pit lane before the race ended bec...

​Now that AstonMartin, McLaren and Alpine have the situation all pretty much sorted now with Alonso of AstonMartin, Oscar to McLaren and what’s looks set for Pierre Gasly to Alpine for 2023 I question obviously now where does this leave Ricciardo??? Now look Ricciardo is one the biggest personalities within F1 and has been for quite sometime but sadly F1 isn’t a personality sport because if it was well then Sebastian Vettel would been the 2021 and 2022 champion by a long mile! But F1 is driven by results and unfortunately for Daniel Ricciardo besides from Monza of last season which is almost now a whole year ago, his time at McLaren has been somewhat of failure despite that one win and number of occasions he’s been outshined by a young British Lando Norris! ​ Now I know we’re three races in and you’d be right to say “Let’s not talk about the championship yet” or “It’s only early days” or something to that effect. However 2 DNFs already, behind in the championship by 46 points and that’s a lot. Even if RedBull some how recovers a small amount at the next GrandPrix what this lead and advantage does for Ferrari is it enables them to relax a little bit.   Mercedes are about a second a lap slower, so they’re not in it this year and Verstappen did win the race that he finished. But Leclerc has had a good start to the season and ultimately Ferrari reliability seems on point however RedBull’s seems far from it. ​ This weekend saw F1 head to the Saudi Arabian streets of Jeddah and here are my takeaways from this weekend GrandPrix!   Saudi Arabian GP - where there was action both on and off the circuit!   Mercedes season is over!  So I guess the first major and significant takeaway is for the Mercedes team! And last weeks Bahrain GrandPrix I highlighted the fact Mercedes could be in real trouble and this weekend confirmed all but that! their season is over - especially for Lewis Hamilton. The car is so far behind the competition it isn’t funny. When your lead driver is battling it out with Haas and Alfa Romeo for tenth position, in order to get a point, you know things are bad. In a recent interview with SkyF1, Martin Brundle ex F1 driver and British co-commentator sat down with the CEO of F1 himself. Stefano Domenicali. And in the interview Stefano unveils potential plans to see a 30 race season long calendar introduced to the F1 season. In this short blog, I’m going to assess the current potential for this to happen.  In my opinion that would depend but how on earth would you organize such a long winded calendar is beyond me. Personally I think 30 races per season is stupidly ambitious and how they expect the drivers to cope let alone media, journalists, FIA, team principals and staff is the big question. With the current state of things in F1 all the teams suffer from fatigue and I’m sorry to say but I just don’t see how it can happen without probably many teams leaving the sport. I think the MOST F1 could ever expand to is 25 races per season but even my gut feeling is even that is being extreme and pushing it. I think it’s all right for the promoters...
