Three things we learned in Miami 2023? Is this the end of the road for Charles Leclerc???

So not a lot really again, the wasn’t much drama as races go and for a street track again surprisingly boring race, no safety cars, no drama be that negative or positive and ultimately the hardly anything I can say. I guess most things that could take was off track this weekend as that’s where most the action occurred.

Miami gimmicks!

Look Miami since it’s introduction to the F1 calendar has been known to be very gimmicky and ultimately this years event didn’t fail but with all of that the reaction from a large part of the fan base certainly online appear to take negative to that and even I didn’t like the pre race presentation ceremony! It felt like a cheapened version of what we saw from Austin Texas all those years ago in 2017. But the 2017 one was actually pretty good and was solid but this was a bit poorly presented to us.

I know someone who actually went to this years MiamiGP and I have heard the take on the event itself and way I imagine personally Miami it’s more one of them races where you got to be in town to really understand what it’s about and not really an race where it’s going ever to be appealing to the main F1 base or a great spectacle on TV.

Charles Leclerc again not helping himself.

Charles I feel this season is kind of reminding me of that 2019/2020 Sebastian Vettel at the moment and he’s not in a good place right now. The crash in Qualifying again just shows where Charles is at the moment and the longer this goes on the more questions are going to be asked where is Charles at? Honestly I do think we could be witnessing Charles in final few seasons with Ferrari and maybe his final ever season with Ferrari and I get this feeling because you got to look at Charles body language not just outside the car but also in the car.

And it just doesn’t seem to be clicking for either driver or team. And the been rumours of a Mercedes move and you know with Lewis getting older day by day and with where Mercedes are at also does or is Mercedes attention moving away from Lewis and onto Charles? Is Charles really going to be the one who returns the Scuderia back to its championship glory? And you know I’m not confident he will be and in fact I think Charles could be heading for a early exit come the end of this season.

  • Bahrain DNF, he gets out the car and just looks like he could cry.
  • In Jeddah was beaten by Carlos Sainz and ultimately vented some frustration on the team radio.
  • His race in Australia was over before it began and he might have well just not turned up to the event.
  • And now Miami crashes it in the Qualifying and then has a very quiet race just like Jeddah.

And that’s just 2023 so far let’s not forget 2022 and 2021 or even seasons before that. And I feel like Charles and Ferrari are starting to go through that divorce stage.

W14/B

If I was Lewis or George you’d be delighted with how Miami went and be even more happy given that in Imola they’ll have a almost completely redefined car and will it work? Well only a matter of time will tell but is it worth being excited? I think so and I’m sure it can’t be any worse then what they have now. Only 10 days time we will find out truly if Mercedes can get themselves back to where they think they belong and that’s fighting for the championship and winning GrandPrix and not finishing P4 or P6 and some 40+ seconds behind the winner.

So lots to look forward too and hopefully Imola which is first Italian GrandPrix this season will feature some great thrill and spill. And I’ve always liked Imola so much as it’s in my opinion one of F1’s most infamous circuits. It’s obviously and sadly where Ayrton Senna drove his final ever race but despite some of the sadness that does surround that place, I do think back to 2005 or 2006 when we had those great battles between Schumacher and Alonso and even 2021 saw a brilliant GrandPrix there with RedFlags, interchangeable conditions and of course the beginning of what was the Hamilton Vs Verstappen rivalry.

But less said about that rivalry the better!
