It’s time to go.

It’s time to go! Those where the famous words of Arsenal fan, AFTV legend Claude Callegari. Now okay I’m not sure if Claude was a Formula One fan but I think had of been he’d agree with what I’m about to say. Bottas, It’s time to go. 

Either Mercedes needs to make the decision or Bottas needs to step back and away from F1. In fact if I was Bottas I’d take a sabbatical for at least the remaining races in 2021! If Mercedes wants to maintain the Constructors championship they’re gonna need two world class drivers week in and week out. If you look Bottas season so far it’s by far his worst start to his Mercedes career and ultimately he looks emotionally done. Now I’m not saying Mercedes needs to react quicker than buzz lightening but if Mercedes don’t react or don’t put someone new and hungry in that second Mercedes seat whilst I believe they could win one of the other championships but I don’t believe they’ll have the capability to win two championships such as the WDC or WCC. 

Mercedes need if they want to win both two outstanding drivers. Because look at RedBull they’ve got two guys who can win such as Perez and Max but Mercedes? Well Bottas hasn’t won a race since the Russian GrandPrix of last season! Okay they’re are drivers on longer droughts but ultimately for Mercedes formula one driver his form hasn’t been good enough. Really from day one has he been the right man for the job?? That’s the biggest question. Personally I’d say no, but then he didn’t make too bad of teammate for Lewis or the team. He picked up wins occasionally but was always in the top5, top 3 or even top 2 on many of occasions. But since the Russian GrandPrix of 2020 he’s only managed 6 podium finishes out of a potential 13 races! In the other 7 races he’s failed to finish on the podium he’s hugest finish has only been P8 twice! That means 5 of those occasions he’s failed to score any points. And even worse news for Valtteri Bottas 3 of those 5 non points scores have come this season! 

Okay drivers have periods of luck some maybe have more luck than others but I’m sorry Valtteri Bottas luck seems endlessly never expiring. The cycle goes on and will continue to go until Mercedes wake up, get dressed and fry a egg in the morning. 

Mercedes in my opinion should hire Russell. We’ve already witnessed his capabilities at Williams, we seen his potential at Mercedes why hold the guy back? Give him these remaining 17 race I say, give him the opportunity to help you win a 8th championship not just for Lewis but for the Mercedes team and make more history! Okay Mercedes are considered loyal to their drivers but it’s time Mercedes wake up and smell the dust. If I was Toto from now till France 🇫🇷 I’d be sat down every day over zoom calls, WhatsApp or whatever messaging service it maybe and be saying George I want you. 

I would be pushing those at the top not just in Williams to come to an agreement but also in Mercedes to get George Russell in that car tomorrow. Basically if I was Toto I’d be going all in on George Russell. 

Yes it breaks maybe Mercedes moral code of ethics but same time do what need to be done. Because I’m sorry how are Mercedes going to win against RedBull who clearly have either now a car possibly just as good if not better than Mercedes plus they have amazing driver line up in Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen? Also if they don’t change anything cause Perez is effectvely able to steal points not just off Bottas but also Hamilton it gonna make Hamilton’s life harder. Where as if Russell went into Mercedes guess what? George Russell could do the same to Max and to RedBull. 

So ultimately yeah #PromoteRussell needs to get trending at Mercedes!
