What has to happen for Lawrence Stroll and Aston Martin F1 to get Lewis Hamilton in 2022?

 As of late lots of rumours have been swirling around AstonMartin. And one of those rumours was around 7 time world champion Lewis Hamilton, Lawrence Stroll father of current racing driver Lance and team owner of Aston was in a conversation with F1 Media Journalist  and told them that it would be difficult to not be tempted by signing the 7 time world champion. So today I’ve decided to look into what exactly needs to happen in order for Lawrence to sign the 7 time world champion? 

Now firstly a lot of different things would need to happen in order for this deal to happen, A) Hamilton has to want to be still in F1, B) Hamilton doesn’t want to continue with Mercedes and C) a lot of money put down on the negotiation table. Ultimately I think it’s nonsense because I think any team up and down the grid would love to hire Hamilton but let’s get real here for a second will Hamilton want Aston? Hamilton is 36 years old I’m not saying he can’t do one more project but when you have 7 titles what is point of going to team like Aston Martin? The only thing I can think may drive him there would be to put to bed for once and for all who’s better him or Vettel!

But otherwise I don’t see anything drawing Hamilton to Aston apart from that and big bucks if Lawrence is totally serious about this.

But I think when Lawrence did speak of Lewis he wasn’t talking seriously about it and more just talking about a prospect knowing tho how unrealistic it probably would come true so ultimately a lot of things would have to change and doubt they will.


So in my conclusion ultimately whilst anything is possible and I’m a big believer of this however I think it’s incredibly unlikely given certain circumstances here. One Vettel is contracted to Aston for 2021 and beyond. Two does Lawrence want to put all his money on one star driver given the Drivers Pay Cap that’s been introduced for 2022? And number three will Lewis want to continue and restart a new project beyond 2021 with a team other than Mercedes? I think we all know those answers which are NO, NO and NO. So In my conclusion it probably won’t happen however it was a lovely thought.

Should F1 change it’s RedFlag rules??

So question I want to look at today is should F1 change the RedFlag rules??? Now within the last 12 months the been 6 RedFlags! Now that is abnormally high considering how many red flags where thrown between 2015 to end of 2019 which was only 5!  So within the last 12 months we’ve seen as many RedFlags as we’ve seen across years of 5 seasons! So is it time for a change? Under the current rules it allows teams to change tyres, to change wings and damaged body parts like for like. It also under the current rules in enables drivers who are a lap down during races to come back onto the leaders lap. Now personally I think this is a rather unfair situation. Because ultimately put it this way your not allowed to leave the track and gain a advantage yet your allowed to repair a damage car or gain back significant time under one of these safety cars!  Also if you repaired a car during parc ferme you’d have to start your race from the pit lane. RIP 🪦 NIki Lauda 1949-2019!

Niki, good old Niki! It’s already been two years since his passing it’s mad that the first time we come back to Monaco is two years past Lauda death.  Niki is a legend of F1, I talked in my last blog about F1 not having GOATS but a hall of fame and this is true but I think the is also a very good argument Lauda could be the best of all time!  What NIki achieved in F1 career when you look at it is simply unimaginable. He’s technically the only para athlete  F1 driver to ever win a championship! And not just one but two.  After his horrendous crash at the Nurburgring in 1976 I believe it would of simply been amazing if he’d of ever got back into a F1 car to complete maybe one parade lap like what Romain Grosjean is going to get the opportunity in a months time at the FrenchGP let alone to still compete at the top of his game.
