Has RedBull’s reliability issues cost Verstappen a chance of winning this year’s championship?
Now I know we’re three races in and you’d be right to say “Let’s not talk about the championship yet” or “It’s only early days” or something to that effect. However 2 DNFs already, behind in the championship by 46 points and that’s a lot. Even if RedBull some how recovers a small amount at the next GrandPrix what this lead and advantage does for Ferrari is it enables them to relax a little bit. Mercedes are about a second a lap slower, so they’re not in it this year and Verstappen did win the race that he finished. But Leclerc has had a good start to the season and ultimately Ferrari reliability seems on point however RedBull’s seems far from it. Within the last 3 race so far this season RedBull power trains have had 5 DNFs. Bahrain 🇧🇭: Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez and Pierre Gasly.
